What type of modifications can you do?

We can add extra doors, windows, turbine vents or partitions. Not all modifications are available in all areas. View a complete list of container modification options.

Are the containers weather proof?

Yes. We water-test all of our storage containers before they leave our delivery yard to be sure they do not leak. The containers are completely enclosed and will keep wind and rain and snow out so your contents stay dry and secure.

What if I want shelving?

We can provide shelving in many different configurations to suit your storage needs.

What color are the containers?

The containers come in a variety of colors determined by the shipping lines. Our inventory changes constantly and we cannot control what color the containers are when we purchase them. However, we can paint containers to match your location for an additional charge.

 

How much space is required for delivery?

The amount of space required is minimal. For a 20′ storage container, you will need approximately 60 feet of straight clearance. For a 40′ container, you will need approximately 100 feet of straight clearance. The width requirement is approximately 10 feet.

 

How is the container delivered?

We deliver our units using a tilt-bed truck and/or tilt-bed trailer. With the trailer raised, the container slides off the trailer resting on one end. Then, the truck/trailer will need to pull straight out from under the container. We can also deliver the containers on flat bed trucks at a reduced cost, if you can offload the container. Is any site preparation necessary?

The only thing you need to worry about is that the surface is fairly level, smooth, and firm. We can deliver on dirt as long as it is not too soft. We can also deliver on cement, pavement, asphalt, gravel or packed dirt.

How long will delivery take after I place my order?

Normal delivery time can be as quick as two to five days providing you are not having any modifications done to the unit. If you need something sooner, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

 

How far will you deliver?

We deliver to anywhere in the United States and Canada.

How are containers protected?

All of our storage containers come equipped with standard lock rods. For an additional charge, we can weld a steel lock box to the outside of the unit. The lock box conceals and protects your lock from being tampered with.

What type of payment is required upon delivery?

We collect the total sales price including delivery charge and sales tax before delivery. We accept personal or business checks, cash, Visa or MasterCard, as well as wire transfer and counter deposits.

What is the condition of a new/used container?

NEW – Excellent condition, one trip transported from factory overseas. USED Seaworthy – Re-certified and used for overseas shipping. USED Cargo-worthy CW – a container inspected to ensure safe domestic (stateside) transport in loaded condition. USED Weathertight  WWT  – a container inspected and found to have sound flooring, square with properly operating doors, and Leak-free, suitable for domestic storage.  AS IS – Not inspected, first unit off the container stack.

How long will the container last?

Without any form of preventative maintenance a new container, in a storage environment, should last for more than 20 years. Used containers have a variable lifespan depending upon the condition of the container when purchased. Our containers should be free of problems for many years after purchase but as steel continues to rust attention should be paid to areas of rust and preventative maintenance performed as required.

 

How much will the container hold?

A 20′ standard will hold about 1,150 cubic feet. A 40′ High Cube is almost 2,700 cubic feet while a 40′ Standard will hold about 2,400 cubic feet.

What is the difference between a “standard” and a “high cube”?

A “Standard” has an exterior height of 8’6″…can be 20′, 40′ or 45′ length container.  A “High Cube” is available in 40′ or 45′ length containers. There are a few spec built High Cube 20′ containers, but they are not used in commercial shipping. Therefore they are more costly and availability is limited.

What flooring is in a container?

Most all modern shipping containers feature 1″ thick 19-ply marine-grade sheet flooring.
